Lets start with the most impressive, shall we?
This is my version of a Vietnamiese Sandwich.
Toasted bread, with a shmeer of Thai Chili and roasted pepper sauce that Brett loves. And I love him, so I put it on. I tried to fashion a Chinese-sausage style sandwich since the only meat I had was hard Salami from the deli...On top of that I put tons of fresh Ciliantro and some fresh 'Do Chua' I had made earlier in the week. It literally means 'Vietnamiese Picled Stuff," in this case pickles and cucumbers. Recipe to follow..its so easy and delicious. Sesame seeds on top complete that side for the visual, with lettuce and more shmeer on the other piece of bread!
DO CHUA
For a 12 oz jar, you'll need:
1 medium-sized carrot, julienned
1 small daikon, julienned (I used 1 meduim cucumber)
1 tbs sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 to 1/2 cup white vinegar
Combine ingredients and store in a glass jar. Ready to eat in 15 minutes!
Mediteranean Style Sandwich
I made this one the same day I made the Vietnamiese sandwich, I loved playing with the different cultures flavors...and my version of them!
On a toasted Everything Bagel, shmeer some Hummus on one side. Top with diced white onion and tons of crumbled feta. I added about 1.5 tsp of red pepper flakes...the spice is amazingly complimentary. Toast some hard salami under the broiler for about 3 minutes, or to your level of cooked. I usually like it BURNED but I kept it rarer...? Lettuce leaves and a couple crunchy pickles finish it off. I loved it so much I made a version of it for the next 3 days...haha.
Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned Turkey and Cheese!
Lots and lots of turkey from the deli, provolone cheese, cucumbers and red onion, red bell pepper, tons of lettuce and some italian dressing make for a great fresh, CRISP sandwich.
Salami on a Sub.
Salami and provolone, toasted baby! Red bell pepper, onion slices, and salad greens from the night before. Yeah!
